Say Hello To Amy Liddell

We decided a long way back in the process of bringing Shores to life that we would do things differently. We wanted to break a mould, we wanted to give things back to the wonderful bloggers and fashion enthusiasts who have helped us over the years. Today, we kick that off by giving Amy Liddell of Salt & Chic the full Paxman treatment – enjoy!

So Lets begin…

Who is Salt and Chic?

I’m Amy, the girl behind Salt and Chic! Salt and Chic is a fashion, lifestyle and travel blog ran by a 22 year old Harry Potter fanatic and law student from Durham.

How did you get into blogging?

I started my blog on a bit of a whim and didn’t really know what it was at first. I’d read a couple of other blogs and thought I’d give it a try but it took me a while to get into it properly and even when I did, I never imagined I’d still be doing it two years later and that it would have brought me this far!

Who would you say your style icons are?

My biggest style icon is undoubtedly Suki Waterhouse. I just love how pretty but edgy her style is and she incorporates so much 60s glam into her looks! I also love Keira Knightley simply because she always looks so elegant, even when she’s just dressed casually.

Which brands are you into at the moment (fashion and non-fashion related)?

ASOS is probably the brand I’m drawn too most at the moment; I know I can always count on them to have that piece I’m looking for or a piece to fit a specific trend. I’m also loving Urban Decay for make up. They’re a long standing favourite of mine for beauty products, particularly foundation as they’re the only brand that stock a foundation pale enough for my skin!

What fashion trends do you expect to see over the next year?

Seventies doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon and I’m not complaining! There also seems to be a lot of vintage style pieces coming in with a lot of tweed and faux fur and I think gothic looks are going to have a bit of moment this winter!

What do you wish more people knew about you and your style?

I wish more people knew how happy it makes me to actually put an outfit together. I spend a lot of my time in work uniforms so I’m always ridiculously happy to actually be able to wear my own clothes! It’s a bit sad but I’m sure anyone who works in a uniform can relate!

What’s a typical day for you?

I work two part time jobs and go to university to study law on top of that so my usual days are jam packed. I get up on a morning and take my pooch, Luna, for a walk, go to university, come back and go to work and then do some blogging after that. As you probably guessed I don’t sleep much!

Where do you see yourself in a year’s time?

I honestly have no idea! I’m about to enter my third year of university so hopefully I’ll have graduated and moved into the big world of adulthood!

Two/three year’s time?

This one is even harder so the only thing I can really say is that I can see myself living in a city. I live in Durham in the North East and my village is in the middle of the countryside but at heart I’m a city girl. Give me the hustle and bustle of city life over quiet countryside any day!
